I can't begin to tell you what an honor it was for me to be here for this particular day.

The bride (Diana) and I were best friends and inseparable in high school, when suddenly life took us in separate directions.  It wasn't until a couple of years ago that our friendship came back full circle, after some growing and patching of the past.  It was refreshing to have a new beginning, and I was really excited to discover all she had been up to...

While attending college in Chico, Diana met and fell in love with Alex; a genuine, handsome, hard-working guy who isn't afraid to show his softer side once in a while, especially for his lady D.  Every time I witnessed him looking at Diana, his eyes began to twinkle, and he blushed with adoration; it made me feel so happy and thankful to know that Diana had found somebody who loved her that much.  And together, they've created such a beautiful life... including their beautiful boy, Archer... whom I had the pleasure of photographing when he was still in his mama's belly.

Of course, Archer was there for their South Lake Tahoe elopement, which was beautifully arranged by Diana's sister, Jenny Hiller.  Jenny happens to be a wedding coordinator, so no detail was left undone for Diana and Alex's intimate celebration.  With a handful of their closest family members, the day was focused on their love, and having a good time was made easy...

I met Diana, Archer and her sisters, Jenny and Sammie, at one of Tahoe's best beauty salons.  Sammie was an amazing auntie and helped Diana with Archer while the beautiful mom and bride-to-be had her hair and makeup done~ then, somewhere between champagne and giggles we made our way over to the Grand Residences by Marriott to put on the finishing touches.  Diana picked an elegant cocktail style dress, and sparkly shoes to match her beautiful diamond ring, and her grandmother's clutch (who carried the beaded bag on her own wedding day.)  After some excitement and anticipation, we dashed over to the Mont Bleu, with time to spare to enjoy the bridal suite for a few moments of reflection...     and then, the time came to become a Mrs. to his Mr. <3

Diana's dad proudly walked his daughter down the aisle, where Alex met her with smiles and tears of joy... the "I do's" were simply and beautifully said, and then they sealed their sweet elopement with a kiss!  Signed and official, celebration was in full swing!  We headed down to the Riva Grill for dining and even a bit of dancing, enjoyed the view of the breath-taking lake, and then I appreciated all of the beautiful moments surrounding the day.

I was thankful to help with the day and be a part of the memories...
thankful to be in such a magical location like Lake Tahoe, with old and new friends alike...
thankful to be reminded of the lessons life is always offering, and most of all

thankful to see such a beautiful person in my life blossom into a beautiful bride, mother and friend.
