Jeffery and Kristin flew all the way from their home in New Orleans to elope in the Sonoma Valley wine country, and they couldn't have picked a more perfect day and venue to make their vows official.  Gundlach Bundschu is a magical place, not only because my own husband proposed to me there, and not only because it's the oldest family-owned winery in California...    there's just something about the land that encompasses a certain happiness.  On this particular Spring day, the subtle warmth and soft glow of the sun setting over the vineyards released an abundance of white butterflies fluttering over the grass; they appeared to look like confetti, perhaps knowing a special celebration was in order...

The moment I met Kristin, I felt like I had known her forever.  She's the sweetest Southern Belle I've ever seen, yet she's not afraid to be completely goofy and fun.  Jeffery was quite handsome, a complete gentlemen, and holds a humble and gentle spirit.  Their love is obviously sincere and I adored watching them together...  from my perspective, they complimented each other so beautifully.

With a handful of their closest friends and family by their side, Rev. Blane Ellsworth led a joyful and beautiful ceremony, complete with a blessing of the wine, and a showering of rose petals as they sealed their promises with a kiss.  The entire day seemed to perfectly compliment Jeff and Kristin's playful and sweet nature.  I'm glad I thought to bring along Mardi Gras masks and beads to incorporate their hometown, we laughed and made some fun memories together... and those portraits turned out to be some of my favorite from the day!

They wrapped up their evening with champagne toasts, awesome photo bombs and plenty of XO's between family and friends in Gundlach Bundschu's quaint little bungalow, which was decorated in the simplest yet most elegant style imaginable.  The time spent with them flew by, and a slight heaviness came over me as I left their party; I only wished I could have spent more time...   I truly felt like I had made some great new friends; their sweet Southern charm completely rubbed off on me.

I've always wanted to renew my own vows...   perhaps a New Orleans elopement is in MY future! ;)
