Megan & Charlie ~ An Engagement Session

July 02, 2014

Sometimes, as a photographer, you get dream clients--  where you just click immediately and everything feels comfortable and fun.  This (of course) is ideal because when a client is comfortable, they're able to relax and be themselves....  and I'm able to capture authentic and beautiful photos. :)  This was the case when I met Charlie and Megan, who are two of the sweetest, down-to-earth souls I've had the privilege of meeting in a while.

I actually recognized Megan when I met up with them to go over their wedding contract-- we went to high school together, but she was a couple classes ahead of me, so at the time I never knew her personally.  I'm glad life has come full circle and we had the chance to meet, because she's awesome!  AND she's found a super nice guy to share her life with, which makes me smile! :)

Charlie is a San Diego transplant who moved to Sonoma to work in the wine industry, and as fate would have it, he met Megan on the job.  They've been inseparable ever since, and recently bought a house together!  Megan received her degree and now works as an elementary teacher (which I bet perfectly suits her), and they're enjoying building their future together in the beautiful wine country.

The two have set their wedding date for July 18th 2015, and I'm the lucky photographer who gets to capture all of the fun-- and it's sure to be tons of fun, knowing how naturally they play together and appreciate life to the fullest.  At our engagement session, we met on the backroads of Sonoma, near the old railroad tracks and slough.  I've always wanted to have a session there, because there's so much to photograph and "work" with.

Megan wore a beautiful Tutu for the first part of our shoot, which her friend handmade for her!  It was absolutely adorable...    and Charlie made a prop for us to use: a box with their wedding date painted on the front!  We had fun playing around and making their session true to their style! :)

Megan and Charlie-- thanks again for choosing me as your photographer, I'm really looking forward to hanging out again on your big day!! xoxo
