I feel incredibly touched when a friend asks me to photograph their wedding, but it's also super fun to enjoy the day as a guest... and that's why I was SO excited when my friends Jessica and Kyle asked me to attend their wedding as a guest, and also photograph their big day.  How is this accomplished, you may ask?  For one, I make a point to enjoy every moment (even behind the camera!)  I always do anyway, so it's not as difficult as it may seem!

While guests are there for the main event and don't normally get to see the bride or groom before the ceremony, I felt incredibly honored to be there for getting-ready photos and take part in the festivities throughout the day.  Once the "must-have" photos were taken and dancing began, I put down the camera and enjoyed the remainder of the night as a guest...  mingling with friends, eating dinner, and dancing my way to the after-party! ;)

I've known Kyle and Jessica separately and as a couple for quite some time, since we all went to the same middle school and high school together.  Kyle was friends with my little brother and our neighbor, so he was around quite a bit and I always thought he was one of the nicest guys in the group.  Jessica was in my husband's class and they were good friends; when I met Jessica, I instantly loved her sweet and genuine personality.  As a couple, Jessica and Kyle compliment each other perfectly, and bring out the very best in one another.

They married on a warm day in early Summer, on Kyle's grandmother's property in Sonoma.  The land is rich with small-town history; it was even used as a summer camp in the mid-1900's, and Sonoma's first tennis court was built there.  Nowadays, the land is much quieter (Kyle's grandma still resides there) but it made the perfect venue for their wedding.

Kyle and Jessica kept their wedding intimate and personal by hiring hometown friends (like myself, the officiant, florist, DJ and coordinator).  It was awesome to see us all come together, working hard to put on an unforgettable day for the stunning couple...

Thank you again Kyle and Jessica for letting me be apart of your day, to capture the memories and to soak up all the fun.  I love you two sooo much!!  Now, get your booties up here and visit us already!  I'm gonna keep bugging you about it, sorry I'm not sorry! ;)
